Our Team

Dr. Doğa Öztürk

Doğa writes on Turkey’s foreign policy, focusing mainly on its position within the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as on Egypt and the wider Middle East. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the Ohio State University while he also has an M.A from King’s College London in Middle East and Mediterranean Studies and a B.A from the University of Virginia in Economics and Foreign Affairs.

Currently, he is working on his first book, which analyzes the question of self-identification in Egypt in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Francesco Vespignani

Francesco writes on Turkey and Libya focusing mostly on its relations with the European Union and its members. He is a postgraduate student in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs at the University of Bologna. He holds a MSc in Middle Eastern Politics from SOAS University of London and a B.A from Ca' Foscari University of Venice in Middle Eastern Studies

Doğukan Atmaca

Doğukan focuses on international diplomacy and economic relations among the Eastern Mediterranean countries, focusing mostly on Turkey and Israel. Currently he holds an M.A from SOAS University of London, while he previously studied history at University of St. Andrews and Koç University.
